Wilton House

things-to-do
Wilton House
Wilton House is owned by the Earl & Countess of Pembroke and is first and foremost their home which is why most guests and visitors to Wilton comment on the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the house.

In 1544 the house and lands were given to the Earl's ancestor Sir William Herbert by Henry VIII. Since then Wilton House has been strongly tied to the artistic and political elements in England but also providing homes and employment to the estate workers as it still does today.

The current Earl's father started a programme of improvements and restoration to the house and grounds and this continues under the current Earl's supervision.
