Salisbury Cathedral

Salisbury Cathedral
Salisbury Cathedral
Salisbury Cathedral
One of the key attractions for tourists to Salisbury, the Cathedral truly sits at the heart of the city. With the tallest Church spire in the UK, the Cathedral is a high profile venue for both spiritual and tourism visitors.

They hold the best of the remaining four original copies of the Magna Carta as well as Europe’s oldest working clock (AD1386). Due to its relatively rapid construction period (38 years) it retains a consistent architectural style, making it Britain’s finest 13th Century Gothic Cathedral.

Also, available during your visit are wonderful refreshments from the glass-roofed Refectory restaurant, which was totally refurbished in February 2014.

Magna Carta

Magna Carta
The Magna Carta is one of the most celebrated and important documents in all English history. As a solution to a political crisis in Medieval England this historical document has endured through the ages as an important cornerstone of liberty influencing much of the civilized world.

One of only four in existence and perhaps the most well preserved of the four this exhibit still amazes and inspires visitors of the Cathedral. We take great responsibility over the care and ownership of the Magna Carta, it is instrumental in shaping Salisbury Cathedral's plans and objectives.

It will be the 800th anniversary of the document in 2015.
